From The Tools To Property Investment

20 plus years in the trades industry. An entrepreneur who's started and run multiple businesses. One realisation that changed everything: your body won't do this forever, so your income can't depend on it forever either.

20+ Years Working In The Trades

How I Got Into Property Investment

Every milestone below is real, from the first day on site to building a seven-figure property portfolio.

It Started As A Labourer

I started working as a labourer on a building site for a property developer, young and learning everything I could. I picked up how sites worked and how properties were actually put together, the foundation for everything I do in property today.

I Started My Construction Company

In 2010 I started my own construction company, carrying out full refurbishments, renovations, extensions and loft conversions for property investors. A decade of projects taught me refurb costs, timescales, managing trades, and how to add real value to a property, without me even realising I was learning to be an investor.

My First Flip

In 2016 I put that knowledge to work on my own project: bought a property, refurbished it, sold it, and made around £35,000 profit. That was the moment I thought, "This is what I want to do."

Learning How To Do Deals Differently

Property became a much bigger part of my life. I kept flipping, but also learned you don't always have to buy the traditional way, getting into partner sales and assisted sales. Some deals went well, some taught me expensive lessons. Every one added to my education.

From Flipping To Building A Portfolio

By 2023 my thinking changed. Flipping made chunks of cash, but once a property sold, the asset was gone. So I shifted to buying, refurbishing, refinancing and holding for the long term, building assets instead of one-off paydays.

Stacking Assets

Since 2023 I've kept buying and holding, across residential, refurbishment and commercial property. With several acquisitions currently progressing, the portfolio is on track to exceed £3 million once they complete. And I'm nowhere near finished.

Tradesman To Investor

Tradesman to Investor is the result of that whole journey, from a 16-year-old labourer to running a construction company, flipping properties, and building a portfolio of my own. Tradesmen already understand buildings. We already know how to work. We already know how to solve problems. The missing piece is turning those skills into assets, income and long-term security. That's what I'm helping tradesmen do now.
